Yes, it does look like I’ve updated my layout. Just like Riz observed, I’m trying to hit two birds with one stone — these two birds being: personal and work gratification. The people at the office are telling me to stop worrying about our clients’ websites, that I’m not really required to resort to non-work related actions to build links for them. After all, they didn’t hire me as an LPS (which is a relief!). So this is all for me. I’m challenging myself to see how far I could make this one website go. And if I do make it, then it would really make me feel better (If not, then, boo-hoo. :(). So this is all for selfish reasons. I really don’t care that much about the clients.

I’ve uploaded this wordpress theme for distribution hoping it would get me more links. Not just for this site, as you have probably known by now. I made it widget-friendly since some bloggers now prefer a widget-ready theme over one that isn’t. It’s true that dragging those visual objects on your WordPress dashboard is easier, but personally, I’d still go for hard-coding. It just feels more real knowing I have total control over my layout, and that it’s not just dictated by the objects I move around with my mouse. But that’s just me.

I’m also planning to modify the newspaper-like theme I made before. Alter the colors, styles and images, make it widget-ready and SEO-friendly (sort of), then redistribute it. So far, that particular theme has contributed the highest number of links to this blog, I’m hoping I could make something useful out of that again. Hoping, wishing, whatever.

Gudlak!!!

Incidentally, I’ve ensured these themes are valid XHTML and have valid CSS. But don’t try to run the XHTML validator from this site! I have really-messed-up entries (which I’m too lazy to edit) that would just throw errors all over the place. LOL. You can check it somewhere else for now. Haha

Among those backlinks I’m tracking in Technorati, these two modifications are my favorite. If you ask me, I think they’ll do a far better job at this thing I’m trying to do. LOL.

Jaypee just featured this one plugin on his blog called the WP Tiger Administration that changes the look of your WordPress dashboard. I just installed it and, though it’s really nothing fancy or anything, I like the ‘fresh look’ it gives my dashboard. Later, if I get tired of it I can just disable it and go back to the old one. There is one catch though. The plugin is powered by CSS2, so if you’re using IE it would not be viewable. Apparently, IE does not support the CSS2 specifications.

I’ve also upgraded my WordPress version from 2.1 to 2.1.2. There really isn’t a difference between the two. Is there?

Oookay, I could ramble on and on about WordPress while my actual work tasks are left undone, so I’m stopping right here.
