Hey, check it out. We can now talk on our Google Personalized Homepage. Since I and some people I know don’t have administrative rights to install stuff on our workstation PCs in the office (hence could not install messengers and other stuff without asking permission from the IT Department — which usually turns into a long debate on whether we actually need this or that software application for work or just personal) , we make use of web-based messengers to get in touch with the outside world. In my case, I use the gTalk embedded in gMail and a web-based one for Yahoo! Messenger. Now gTalk (with more features than the embedded one) can be added to the personalized homepage! Yahoooo! Oops.

As you can see, I have only a handful of contacts in my gTalk. Most of my friends are in Yahoo! Messenger, but unfortunately, Yahoo! seems to be lagging behind in the integrated instant-messaging area. I really wish they’d catch up quick. I’ve been waiting for the Yahoo! Messenger inside Yahoo! Mail feature which was announced 48 years ago but until today remains unavailable in my Yahoo! account.
