Say Bye Bye Pesky Tooth!
A Preferred Coffee House
Gloria Jean’s The Fort has become one of my favorite hangouts mainly because of the free wi-fi and the oh-so-nice ambiance. It’s also quite near where I live, and it’s just a few blocks away from Deej’s office — an ideal location indeed! The baristas are okay too. Just an hour ago, this one crew accidentally took away my drink as he was clearing the table, thinking it belonged to the customer who just left the coffee house. I tried to stop him but I was just in mid-sentence when he walked straight to the trash bin and dumped it in. Oh boy. Good thing the other barista, seeing the expression on my face, realized what just happened so he suggested to get me another drink on the house! There was really no need for them to do that, I really didn’t mind. Besides, I’ve almost polished off the drink that the guy threw away so it was really good as gone. Lol. Oh well, I’m not complaining. Free coffee drink, w00t!
The Pesky Tooth
My negligence has once again caught up with me. I didn’t come to work today so I can attend to a personal errand that I’ve been putting off for as long as I can remember. My Mom and I went to two dental clinics to have them take a look at my impacted wisdom tooth and give an estimate of the cost of the procedure in order for us to make an informed decision. The second dentist gave a cheaper price, so guess what? I finally have an appointment this Saturday. And there’s no turning back!
So why did I wait this long? Well, obviously, I was scared. Still am actually. I’ve never undergone a procedure as complicated as this one before! I’m also scared of needles and I dread having my gums stitched together, or any part of my body for that matter. The surgery is a bit expensive too. I don’t see why I have to pay thousands of pesos just to have something removed. I usually pay for something that I will have not something I will lose. Lol! But God has provided for this, so I should really stop making excuses. I mentioned before that I was having a hard time going ahead with the surgery without my Mom. And now that she’s here, I think I can be a little braver now.
I asked the second dentist about the procedure (“Hey doc, just out of curiosity, what are you going to do exactly??” ) and he answered me this way, “I won’t tell you because the truth might scare you and make you decide not to go through with it!” Aw. I’m afraid he may be right.
“D-day” for me is this Saturday — Wish me luck, guys! Lol. I’m leaving my last will and testament in case something bad happens to me (I could bleed to death, you know! Haha). I’m leaving my computer and gadgets to Deej, my old laptop to my brothers, my pet hammies to Riz, my books to Anna Grace, my other stuff to my barkada, and what’s left of my so-called savings to my parents. Wahehehe!
