Neil Gaiman instantly became one my favorite authors after I read his novel Neverwhere a few years ago. I wanted to read more of his books but I kind of lost interest after I was done with American Gods. Its strange, too-manly plot didn’t really appeal to me. His other best-selling novels (Smoke & Mirrors, The Sandman, and Anansi Boys) were very tempting too, but because of prejudice I always ended up getting a book by another author. Heh. Then when I learned that they were making the Stardust film (which I included in this list) based on his novel with the same title, I knew that that one was good and was worth reading. I mean, why else would they make a movie out of it, right? And with big Hollywood stars as part of the cast too: Michelle Pfeiffer, Robert DeNiro and Claire Danes.

Anyway, I said that I would get a copy of Stardust before the movie comes out, but forgetful me never got to it — until I saw that it’s already showing in theaters! So yeah, I just bought my copy yesterday. And if you know me, you won’t find it strange that I always make it a point to read the book first before I go see the film. Not all the time, though. Hehe! Looks like I won’t be able to finish the book on time before the cinemas remove Stardust from their movie listings (unless they decide to extend it). Fine then, I can catch it on DVD, or a year or two from now on HBO. Lol.

PS: I know some of you have already read the book or seen the movie… No spoilers please! :P
